ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY
of the scientific journal “Demography and Social Economy”
The scientific journal “Demography and Social Economy” adheres to high standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal’s editorial policy is aimed at ensuring honesty, transparency, responsibility, and trust in scholarly communication.
The editorial board considers any forms of academic misconduct unacceptable, including plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication and falsification, manipulation of research results, inappropriate authorship, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.
- Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors bear full responsibility for the content of submitted materials. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited. Authors are required to ensure the accuracy of the data presented, the correctness of the research methodology, and the validity of the conclusions.
Co-authorship must reflect the actual contribution of each participant in the research. Individuals who have not made a significant contribution should not be listed as authors. - Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers are required to provide objective, unbiased, and confidential evaluation of manuscripts. They must refrain from using any information obtained during the review process for personal purposes. In the event of a conflict of interest, the reviewer must inform the editorial office and decline the review.
Reviews should be well-reasoned, constructive, and aimed at improving the scientific quality of the publication. - Editorial Board Responsibilities
The editorial board ensures impartial consideration of all manuscripts regardless of the authors’ gender, race, nationality, political or religious beliefs. Decisions on publication are made solely on the basis of scientific merit, relevance, and compliance with the journal’s scope.
The editorial office guarantees the confidentiality of submitted materials and adheres to the principles of double-blind peer review. - Prevention of Plagiarism and Other Misconduct
All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using appropriate software tools. In cases of detected academic misconduct, the editorial board reserves the right to reject the manuscript or retract a published article.
The journal follows international guidelines for handling ethical violations, including procedures for corrections and retractions. - Conflict of Interest
All participants in the editorial process (authors, reviewers, editors) are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of the evaluation or interpretation of research results. - Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence technologies in research must comply with the principles of transparency, responsibility, and proper disclosure. Artificial intelligence cannot be listed as an author of a scientific work. - Compliance with International Standards
The journal follows the recommendations of leading international organizations in the field of publication ethics and academic integrity and continuously improves its editorial practices in line with modern scientific standards.
